Nintendo announces the Mini Wii

Kyoto based Nintendo just announced a reincarnation of the Wii called "Wii Mini." It will be out on December 7th for $99.99. Oddly enough, the console has only been announced in Canada with Nintendo stating "no information is available about its potential availability in other territories in the future."

The console is, of course, smaller and will lie horizontally instead of vertically. The console looks like something out of Tron, with glossy red tapered edges encasing a matte black frame. It also appears that it might be a top loader, as well.

For the price of $99.99 you'll get the system, a Wii Motion Plus controller, and a Nunchuk. The smaller system will have a couple of features stripped out of it, like the removal of its wifi capability. It's unable to load game cube discs, and also no longer supports gamecube controllers. If you live in Canada, they're taking pre-orders now!
