Dungeon Fighter is an interesting approach to the MMO genre. If a lot of polish were applied to this little gem it would improve drastically and do more than attract the niche crowd. It had some features that are WoW inspired but fall kind of flat on how they function.
There is little to no explanation about anything, besides basic game play Crafting? It's there somewhere. Who knows what else I'm missing? It took me a while just to figure out that you can upgrade your weapons using items called "Ryan Cokes". Yeah, sure, THAT makes me think "Now THERE'S an item I can use to upgrade my gear!". You'll have to do your own research before hand on the site or a wiki, as the community cannot be of much help. This is because of the megaphone/echo bullshit that I hate. Paying, or using an item, to talk in a general channel. Seriously, get rid of this shit!
The game play is a blast, though. It sucks on the keyboard, but hook up a controller and it's like you're almost back at the arcade! I often wonder what it would be like playing it with an arcade pad, probably pretty neat. Partying is a pain, and shows another example of how this game could use polish to make it really shine. There is a quick party option where I assume if someone else is wanting to play the dungeon you're doing, they'll throw you into a party, with buffs too! Sadly, it never finds anyone and I go into the dungeon lonely.
Dungeon Fighter is a game with promise, but sadly I'm not sure it's cared about. It's almost 7 years old in Korea, and 3 years old here in the U.S.. This is all the development they've had in this amount of time? Pathetic. These companies need to quit pumping out new F2P MMO after another. Still, for it being free, it is a good little distraction.
TL;DR
-Fun combat
-Clunky UI/quest system
-Neat retro graphics
-Partying is a pain
Overall 7/10
Flaws aside, this game is probably worth trying, just don't get suckered into the cash shop.
